Haras El-Hodoud have extended their winning streak to seven games after beating Arab Contractors 3-2 in the 9th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday. International striker Ahmed Hassan Mekki netted twice in the 25 and 77 and Mohamed Shaarawi headed the third in the 45th minute while Alaa Kamal 66 and Mohamed Salah 90 cut the gap to 3-2 but that wasn’t enough to get Arab Contractors anything out of this game. Salah lost a penalty midway through the second half that could have changed the course of the game. El-Hodoud are now on top of the table with 22 points five ahead of second-placed Ittihad El-Shorta who defeated Petrojet 2-0 courtesy to a brace from Khaled Kamar on 19 and 45 minutes. However the biggest surprise of the day was Ghazl El-Mahalla’s stunning victory against Cup winners Enppi 2-1. Ghanaian Samuel Owusu, 15, and Nouhoun Thiam ,70, from Burkina Faso scored for El-Mahalla to claim the team’s first victory this season while Mozambican defender Mano managed to score a late consolation goal in the dying seconds of the game. The victory takes El-Mahalla to the 15th place relegating Enppi to the 16th with only five points out of eight matches. In Port Said, Egypt U-23 striker Ahmed Sherweda grabbed the full points of the game for Masry against Beni Sweif Telephones to register their third victory of the season placing them in the 7th place with 13 points.
