Paris - Arab Today
Marseille have announced the signing of 19-year-old Brazil centre-back Doria from Botafogo. The French club confirmed the capture of the former Brazil U-20 captain, who has won one senior international cap, on a five-year contract on Monday evening.
Shortly after penning his deal, the teenager told www.om.net: "I'm very happy, honoured and proud to join OM. This is one of the biggest clubs in Europe, well known in Brazil.
"I have been made to feel really welcome by the entire club, the chairman Vincent Labrune. I was very impressed with the infrastructure. The Robert Louis-Dreyfus centre is fantastic."
Doria, who will link up with his OM team-mates next week after international U-21 duty in Qatar, cannot wait to get started on his new adventure.
"I am fully prepared and trained with Botafogo," he added. "I'm in great shape, ready to play. I've heard about the passion of the OM fans. I know they play a very important role. I saw pictures from the Stade Velodrome in the last game against Nice - it was amazing."
