Ten-man Kaiserslautern came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Hannover which did little to help either team. Mohammed Abdellaoue gave Hannover the lead after 13 minutes, but Adam Nemec equalised for the home side in the 68th minute. Kaiserslautern finished the game with ten men after Itay Shechter was sent off in the 87th minute. Hannover opened the scoring after Mathias Abel misplaced a pass from Sofian Chahed to Abdellaoue, who fired a shot through the legs of goalkeeper Kevin Trapp from 11 yards out. Hannover nearly doubled their lead after another mistake from Abel, but Abdellaoue could not find a wide-open Jan Schlaudraff on the counter-attack on the half-hour mark. Kaiserslautern missed a chance after 38 minutes as Dorge Kouemaha shot wide despite finding himself in plenty of space eight yards from goal. The hosts applied more pressure after the hour mark and nearly equalised in the 65th minute but Alexander Bugera\'s shot was blocked by Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler. Kaiserslautern got their equaliser in the 68th minute on a counter-attack, as Christian Tiffert fed Olcay Sahan down the left wing for a cross into the box where Nemec struck a left-footed shot into the corner. The home side pushed forward looking for a winner but Zieler was able to save Konstantinos Fortounis\'s shot in the 71st minute. And they finished the game with ten men after Shechter was shown a straight red card for a foul on Manuel Schmiedebach.
