Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is apparently keen on snapping the England defender up as quickly as possible with a view to a debut early in January, with wages now the only block.Chelsea have had a £7 million (€8.4m) bid accepted by Bolton for defender Gary Cahill and are already discussing personal terms with the player, according to The Daily Mirror.Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas reportedly wants to rush the move through so Cahill can make his debut as soon as possible following the opening of the transfer window, with the Stamford Bridge outfit’s home clash against Portsmouth in the FA Cup on January 8 the likely target.The newspaper claims that Cahill’s agent, John Seasman, is negotiating wages with Chelsea executive Ron Gourlay with a view to completing a medical after the weekend.The centre-back’s contract at the Reebok Stadium is set to expire in the summer, with much-rumoured moves to Arsenal and Tottenham falling through in the previous window.Cahill is believed to be relishing the prospect of testing himself in the Champions League and impressing England manager Fabio Capello ahead of Euro 2012.
