Chairman of Board of Directors of Umniah Bank, Abdul Samad Esami, stated that his bank received the license on 6 March 2017 and that the license was published in the Official Gazette on May 18, thus giving us a legal presence as the first participatory bank in Morocco.
In interview with Al MaghribToday, he stressed that this Islamic Bank will also offer a variety of banking services that comply with the opinion of the shariah board of the Supreme Council of Science, aimed at individuals, professionals and companies by enabling customers to choose between a range of bank accounts, bank cards, insurance services and investment deposit forms.
Mr. Esami added that the launch came after the approval of the models of contracts for opening accounts by the shariah board for participatory finance.
Regarding the Islamic bank's services, Esami bank will provide its customers with a variety of services and practical solutions to facilitate their day-to-day transactions, such as automatic netting, online services and customer service center, to provide answers to their inquiries and feedback and to benefit from their views in the development of the bank.
Regarding the bank's ambitions, he said that Umniah Bank's ambition is to become a reference bank in the field of participatory banking and to be a bank complementing the traditional banking system.
Esami added said the new Islamic bank is keen to excel in the field of participatory finance by working on implementing a strategy focused on the compatibility of its treatment, the quality of customer relations and the development of innovative products and services.
He also stressed that his bank is keen to provide products including daily liquidity solutions, financing, investment, through deposit and savings, relying mainly on digital and information technology.
He added that the best advantage of the bank is to invest money and share profits through investment deposits where the bank examines with the customer a well thought and profitable project by experts in the bank and it is agreed to share the profits after the expiration of the investment period.
Esami called on everyone to take advantage of the various services offered by Umniah Bank in Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Oujda, Agadir, Salé and Marrakech, adding that they will open new branches in the rest of the Moroccan cities before the end of the current year.
