Moroccan Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, Ashraf Moulay Hafeez Al Alami, revealed that the works of the Tangier Tech project is proceeding well according to its plan. This comes after the seminar hosted by the Moroccan Bank Group for Foreign Trade to discuss the city of "Mohammed VI - Tangier Tech", in the presence of the President and Director-General.
In an interview with Al Maghrib Today, Al Alami said that it was agreed from the beginning to build the industrial sector in the smart city, not the real estate sector. He hoped to spread the smart cities on several areas of Moroccan soil, adding that Morocco has chosen the way of industrialization for years, through the scheme of industrial acceleration. He stressed that this scheme created jobs that exceeded all expectations and even expectations of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy.
Al Alami added that the first 500 hectares of the project is ready, and runs according to its program, explaining that it was agreed from the outset on the construction of the industrial sector in the smart city and not the real estate sector. He also revealed that Moroccans now need jobs, describing the project as important for Morocco, considering that it would create jobs for young Moroccans in many areas and would have an impact on social and economic life in the north.
