The author and fashion designer Engy Alaa managed to achieve great success through her designs for the costumes of the series "Kafr Delhab", which was screened last Ramadan, starring of her husband Youssef Sharif.
The series designs and accessories became are used in children's clothes, as well as the accessories such as the ring and the necklace became in the markets. Alaa succeeded as a writer after she co-wrote "The Devil's Game" series, last year. She is preparing for two other works away from her husband, Youssef El Sherif.
Engy Alaa said in interview with Al Maghrib Today that she is trying to have a separate and independent personality far from being the wife of a famous actor and talked about the beginning of her entering the fashion field as well as writing.
"I graduated from the American University, department of media and besides the media I studied theater and worked in Al Falky theater for three years in fashion design and visual effects and got courses related to acting and script writing and thus practical in the field of fashion design," she stated.
After graduating, I founded a magazine and I was its editor, writing and designing the cover, choosing the colors and designing the fashions. All this was originally a field of study, and it happened before I met Youssef," she added.
She added that she start to cooperate with her husband in the year in which he presented the series "Citizen X", where Youssef admired her work and designs.
Engy Alaa said she participated in other works away from the series of Youssef Sharif such as "Ekhtiar Egbary" series. She will partcipate in the series "El Shara' Ely Warana", another series without her husband. The series is starring of Dora, Farouq Al-Fishawi, Ahmed Hatem and a selection of stars and directed by Majdi Al-Hawari.
She expressed her pleasure for positve reactions of the audience about the designs of series "Kafr Delhab".
