Dubai - Arab Today
Dubai will be among the travel hotspots of the coming year, according to the online travel agency Destinia.com, which has released its selection of international destinations to discover in 2015.
The most populated city in the United Arab Emirates has made tourism one of the leading drivers of its economic development. Just a few hours by plane from Asia or Europe, this ultra-modern metropolis is home to several over-the-top attractions and buildings, including the Burj Khalifa tower (the world's tallest manmade structure) and the Palm Jumeirah (an artificial archipelago).
The second destination to discover next year is Namibia, according to the website. This African republic will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its independence in 2015. Its natural landscapes, including the protected areas of the Etosha National Park and the Kalahari Desert, boast a fascinating beauty.
Burma, also known as Myanmar, will be another of the top travel hotspots of 2015. More and more tourists head to the Asian country, drawn in part by its famous Buddhist temples. The Northern regions such as Kachin State and Shan State, still relatively unexplored by foreigners, are just starting to open up to visitors.
Vietnam will also be in the spotlight next year, as 2015 will be the country's official year of tourism. The country's citizens will celebrate and share their cultural heritage with visitors through several special events and attractions.
Finally, fans of island getaways will look to Papua New Guinea next year, as the nation will host the 2015 Pacific Games. The event gives travelers a unique opportunity to discover the country, which is home to idyllic beaches as well as steep mountains and wild landscapes.
