Chairman of the Egyptian parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, Mohamed El Orabi, on Sunday asserted that Egypt is on top of the countries fighting terrorism in the world at various levels.
This came during his speech at a seminar organized on Saturday by the international center for geopolitical studies in Paris in which a number of experts from all over the world also attended the seminar.
Orabi added that Sinai will be clear of terrorism soon.
He added that Islamic states, not only western states, are victims of terrorism, pointing out at the extremist groups’ attempts to spread chaos and extremism in the region.
Egypt is giving great attention to protecting its borders with Libya as well as regaining stability in Libya. He also pointed out to Egypt’s keenness, via Al Azhar, to enhance religious discourse and spread the moderate teachings of Islam.
Meanwhile, he underlined the importance of the Arab Summit expected to be held in Jordan that aims to unify efforts concerning regional issues including the situation in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Palestine.
He also said that combating illegal migration requires treating the problem rather than the symptom via developing African countries and that will also help in combating terrorism.
