Death toll from capsized migration boat rises to 59

Egyptians wait on shore as a coast guard boat arrives carrying the bodies of migrants from a Europe-bound boat that capsized off Egypt‚ Mediterranean

The death toll from an illegal migration boat that had capsized off the city of Rosetta in Behaira on Wednesday rose to 59, a local official said on Friday.

Thirteen bodies were recovered on Thursday and another four earlier today, said head of the Motobas municipality Aly Abdel Sattar.

Two children and two Africans are among the dead, added Abdel Sattar.

The search is still on for more victims, he said.
