At least 29 people, including one civilian, have been killed in a Turkish military operation against the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the south-eastern district of Silopi, according to dpa.

The military said that they had killed 28 PKK fighters. Silopi is near the Iraqi and Syrian borders.
