15 people injured in bus crash in Bratislava

A total of 15 people, including two children, were injured in a crash of a city transport bus in Bratislava on Saturday, confirmed Andrej Hirjak from the Bratislava paramedics operation center.

Six ambulances were dispatched to deal with the situation. All the injured were conscious when paramedics arrived at the scene.

The most frequent injuries included those of heads, arms and legs. The injured people were transported to hospitals belonging to the umbrella Bratislava University Hospital and the two children were taken to the Children's Faculty Hospital.

The accident took place shortly before the noon near a mall between the boroughs of Lamac and Devinska Nova Ves in the Northern part of Bratislava.

"The female bus driver after the first roundabout close to the shopping centre crashed the bus into a traffic sign pole due to as yet unknown causes," explained Bratislava regional police spokesperson Lucia Mihalikova. Enditem
