Thirteen militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in air strikes launched by Turkish fighter jets in the countryside of Siirt province, southeastern the country.
Anadolu Agency (AA) quoted security sources as saying that the operation came after receiving intelligence information indicated the presence of PKK militants in the area.
Turkish Army, in cooperation with the security forces, is targeting PKK sites in the south and southeastern the country since November last year, in response to armed attacks carried out by the party which targeting civilians and security personnel inside Turkey.
