Eleven people were killed in a hotel fire in the Pakistani city of Karachi on Monday, according to media reports.
Forty-five others were injured in what the (Dawn) newspaper described as a "huge" blaze at Karachi's Regent Plaza hotel.
The fire broke out in the early hours. Flames swept through the building rapidly, trapping many hotel guests in their rooms.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze after about three hours, local police told the newspaper.
