Cairo - Khaled Al Etribi
Board of Egypt’s Ahly football team doubled the punishment imposed against player Hossam Ashour because of his violation against referee Mahmoud Ashour who led the team’s match against Al Entag Al Harby in the framework of the Egyptian Premier League.
Chairperson of Egypt’s Ahly Sporting Club Mahmoud Taher decided to suspend the player for four matches and to double the fine imposed against him from 50 thousand EGP to 100 thousand EGP. The club’s chairperson decided to announce the sanction before the other players of the team.
The decision to announce the sanction before the other players to be deterrent to the other players who could commit such violation in the future. The Egyptian club considered the action committed by its midfielder as a violation against its values, as it will deprive the team from one of its pillars during the current critical period of the season.
