Ramallah - Petra
Groups of Jewish settlers Monday morning forced their way into the Al-Aqsa Mosque via Al-Magharebah Gate.
Eyewitnesses said that the settlers broke into the mosque yards under tight protection of the Israeli police and provocatively roamed the mosque's compounds.
The intrusion angered Palestinian worshippers and students who had gathered to prevent any provocative acts by the settlers.
The Israeli police have been confiscating identity cards of Palestinian women and youths before allowing them to get into the compound, the witnesses added.
