Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underscored that EU members are mighty enough to help resolve the nuclear dispute between Iran and the six world powers before November 24.
Speaking in a meeting with new Italian Ambassador to Tehran Mauro Conchatori on Monday, the Iranian top diplomat underlined that Italy as the current chairman of the European Union would effectively lead the nuclear talks to a satisfactory outcome.
Zarif left Tehran for New York earlier this morning to participate in the next round of the nuclear talks between Iran and the six major world powers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.
Zarif, who heads Iran's negotiating team in talks with the Sextet, is scheduled to have a working lunch with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton on Wednesday.
On September 1, Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton met in Brussels, Belgium, to discuss the process of the ongoing nuclear talks.
Last November, the two sides signed an interim deal in Geneva, which took effect on January 20 and expired six months later on July 20. In July, Tehran and the six countries agreed to extend negotiations until November 24 after they failed to reach an agreement on a number of key issues.
