Airstrikes target ISIL

U.S. military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists in Syria on Wednesday and Thursday using fighter and bomber aircraft to conduct 12 airstrikes, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
Separately, U.S. and partner nation military forces conducted two airstrikes in Iraq on Wednesday and Thursday using attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL terrorists, the announcement said.
In Syria, 10 airstrikes near Kobane struck two small ISIL units and destroyed seven ISIL fighting positions and five ISIL-occupied buildings, the statement said. Additionally, an ISIL headquarters building was damaged near Dayr Az Zawr, and an ISIL security building was damaged near Ar Raqqah, it said.
In Iraq, one airstrike near Bayji struck a small ISIL unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle, it said. One airstrike west of Ramadi struck an ISIL checkpoint, it said.
