Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades asserted that new Suez Canal project is considered a great project for the region and the whole world.
In an interview with Asharq Al Awsat newspaper on Sunday, Anastasiades underlined that Egypt is considered a significant strategic partner to Cyprus.
He also hailed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's efforts in tackling security and economic challenges.
The president expressed his country's full solidarity with Sisi in his war against terrorism and extremism, pointing out at Sisi's efforts to restore security and stability in Egypt and the region.
He added that he met with Sisi several times and such meetings reflect the significant relation between the two countries.
Turning to the Cyprus relation with Israel, the president said that although such developing relations with Israel, Cyprus is also holding great relations with all Arab countries including Palestine.
