Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Sunday said the new Suez Canal proves to the world that Egypt is able to achieve mega projects.
During a meeting with Finance Minister Finance Minister Hani Qadri and the ministry's officials, the prime minister said the new canal represents a real and sustainable development to be integrated with plans to establish a road network and reclaim lands launched by the one-million feddans project.
Mahlab also called on tax and customs officials to tighten their measures to save the Egyptian economy and eliminate customs and tax evasion.
The Egyptian people, particularly youth, must do utmost to develop the country, he said.
