Cairo - Mohammed Youssef
A hotly anticipated episode of the television show "Maakom" is to air on Wednesday at 9.30 pm GMT, presented by acclaimed Egyptian journalist Adel Hamouda on the CBC channel. Hamouda is expected to reveal documents related to the military trial of Khairat al-Shater, the recently barred presidential candidate from Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood. Hamouda will also speak about Egyptian-Qatari relations, which were reportedly worsened by Suzanne Thabet, wife of ousted president Hosni Mubarak. Additional features of the episode include an art fair inspired by the poems of recently passed away Coptic Pope, Shenouda III; an interview with Safeya al-Nokrashi, daughter of Mahmoud al-Nokrashi who was assassinated in 1948 by a young member of the Muslim Brotherhood; another interview with Gamal al-Banna, the brother of Brotherhood founder Sheikh Hassan al-Banna, and finally an interview with General Hassan al-Bardissi, the director of the Cairo Traffic Administration, which discusses the issue of closed-off streets in the Egyptian capital.
