The head of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) said Saturday that he would resign if an inquiry into a transmission disruption revealed staff negligence or dereliction.
Earlier in the day, Essam el Amir decided to refer a report of the ERTU's Broadcasting Engineering Sector and another report of South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company to an investigating committee whose results would be referred to the Public Prosecution in case of sabotage or dereliction were involved.
