Beirut - Sulaiman Al-Asfahani
Assi El Hellani
“In spite of being under the spotlight, humanitarian work is what really fulfils me,” Assi El Hellani told Arabstoday. The Lebanese singer was recently chosen as Goodwill Ambassador for the UN programme ‘Live Lebanon’. Hellani said that the title is another step forward in
his efforts to help underprivileged people: “I offered free songs in support of humanitarian projects and institutions in Lebanon and other Arab countries,” he explained.
Hellani assured Arabstoday that his mission as an ambassador won’t be limited to showing off the title and participating in media shows. He has confirmed that he will try to coordinate his job as an artist and his new mission as an ambassador by taking serious steps in the field.
Hellani expressed gratitude to the UN for nominating him and didn’t dismiss the idea of another duet with one of his children dedicated to the UN project, after previously involving daughter Marita in the United Nations Food Program. Hellani didn’t reveal the name of the chosen child but his son Alwaleed is the favourite for the role.
