Arabstoday quizzed your favourite singers and TV stars about how they stay healthy. Palestinian songstress Reem Talhami was the first to reveal her personal tips for staying fit. The 44 year old, who is married to actor Kamel Basha, said that her favourite foods are fruits, vegetables, and roasted fish. The mother of three explained that she generally eats fat-free food, \"I cook for myself, and I don’t buy fast food unless there is no other option. I try to encourage the whole family to stick to healthy food.\" She added, \"I don’t follow a specific diet, I just keep moving a lot to stop me gaining weight.\" Reem explained that she can eat what she wants as long as she sticks to small quantities. Singer Suhair Hydari, who lives in Nazareth, said: \"I love tasty Arab dishes, but I prefer to prepare the food myself at home so that I know it’s healthy.” She added \"I try to maintain my fitness because the nature of my work requires me to be active.\" Artist Shaden Saleem spoke to us about her favorite meal, saying: \"I love eating, it’s a great fun to try new foods.” For breakfast, she explained, “I like to eat yoghurt, egg, cheese, and thyme with a fresh fruit cocktail. For lunch I love food that contains lentils, dishes such as Almagdrh for example. And I adore Alfricka, cabbage, shrimp, and pasta of all kinds, but I’m not keen on meat.” 26 year old actress Yasmin Humar said that her favorite meals are dishes that contain rice, such as Kabsa, Maklouba and Dulma. She admitted that her mother is the cook most of the time in her household and explained “I prefer not to deprive myself of anything; I’d rather just get moving and burn it off afterwards.” Actress Reem Lauo said: \"I love Makouba, it is a popular Palestinian meal which I started to prepare myself after my mother died. It could make me gain weight, but I can’t resist it, so I try to stay away from sweets and I exercise twice a week stay healthy.”
