The Director of the Health Office in Taiz, Dr. Abdul Rahim Al-Samai, appealed to the Yemeni government and the Arab coalition countries and organizations to rescue patients suffering kidney failure from death in Taiz.
Al-Sama'i said that the Industrial Kidney Department at the hospital of the Thawra Hospital, the largest health sector in Taiz, suffers from complete paralysis due to lack of capacity and most of its staff stopped paying the salaries of health workers in Taiz 10 months ago.
He added that Patients with kidney failure in Taiz are threatened with death due to the paralysis of the industrial kidney department in Taiz Hospital and lack of capacity. He pointed out that the patient of kidney failure was washing three times per week during latest moths, while the number of sessions could be decreased to two sessions due to lack of staff.
He stressed that Taiz faces a health crisis due to the paralysis of the health sector and the failure of the government to pay salaries of the health sectors and send the operational budget of hospitals and patients with kidney failure are threatened to die unless urgent intervention by the government or organizations to enforce them within 72 hours.
