Algiers - Arab Today
The new health draft bill will be submitted to the government early next week, once all the "amendments" and "supplements" will be initiated, said Sunday in Algiers, Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Abdelmalek Boudiaf.
"The new draft bill will be submitted this week at to Government after being definitively finalized by next Thursday. We felt we need to ensure that amendments or supplements would be initiated if this was necessary," minister told APS on the sidelines of the 4th international pharmaceutical days organized by the Algerian National Union of pharmacists (SNAPO).
While arguing that the new bill is "exemplary" and "consensual", Boudiaf said during his opening speech at the meeting that the purpose of such a project remains the "interest" of the patient, recalling the fundamental principles of the Algerian health system, namely universality and free access to care.
"All the suggestions we have received to enrich the new law have been taken into consideration. We ensure that all stakeholders in the field of health will recognize themselves in this new law," he said, adding social partners have been addressed the "first copy" of the project.
As for the theme of the meeting, the minister assured the "determination" of the authorities to work to make Algeria a "center of excellence" in the field of pharmaceutical industry.
