The Ministry of Health is using state-of-art technologies and qualified medical teams to treat eye diseases, Minister Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi said Monday, and noted that health care would witness a leap.
"The ministry spares no efforts to provide health care for treating eye diseases for citizens and expatriates, in addition to providing complete care for people with special needs," Al-Obaidi said in a statement on sidelines of a training course held at Al-Bahar Eye Center.
The course aims at preparing a special plan to prevent blindness and treat visually impaired persons.
Head of Ophthalmology Department at Al-Bahar Eye Center Dr. Jamal Al-Marjan said the training course featured participation of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) and other health organizations, aimed at preparing the five-year plan of "eye health" in Kuwait.
Al-Marjan said participants discussed ways of developing the collection of information and evidence for the five-year plan, as well as assessing health care for eye patients.
He commended Dr. Nadia Abul, the liaison officer between the Ophthalmology Department and WHO, in the development of the Department at Al-Bahar Eye center.
