The Health Ministry asserted on Saturday that Egypt is Ebola free.
In a statement, the ministry said the blood sample of an Egyptian citizen who returned from Sierra Leone tested negative to the virus.
His condition is now stable and will be able to leave hospital after some medical tests, the ministry said.
