Minister of Population Hala Youssef said that Egypt has been suffering from population growth since the January 2011 Revolution.
Addressing the social responsibility conference on the challenges of population on Monday, she pointed out that the birth rate increased in 2014 to reach 3.5 babies for every women.
She stressed that the birth rate must be in parallel with the economic conditions of families to meet the needs of education, youth, information and social activities.
The minister pointed out that some quarters cooperate in the initiative of protecting the street children, saying her ministry was ready to receive proposals and complaints from the civil society and the private sector about the issue.
