A senior Yemeni official escaped an assassination attempt when a bomb went off targeting his car in the capital on Thursday, the ruling party's news website reported. The government spokesman, Abdu al-Janadi, who is also the deputy information minister, escaped an assassination attempt after unidentified gunmen detonated a bomb device minutes before he parked his car in front of his house in Sanaa earlier Thursday. Al-Janadi was quoted by the portal, almotamar.net, as saying that "the bomb device went off at his car's parking area."
