UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on Mali\'s interim president, Dioncounda Traore, and called for the military to protect the country\'s security. Ban said protesters who stormed the presidential palace in Bamako on Monday and inflicted head and chest injuries to Traore should be held accountable. \"The secretary general urged all actors in Mali to refrain from any actions that may undermine the transition process and further endanger peace and stability in the country,\" UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said.
