Security measures have been tightened in Port Said ahead of Easter, said Assistant Interior Minister Zaki Salah. 

Salah, made the remarks during a surprise tour to inspect security around churches in the Canal city on Friday night. 

Security is tightened 200 meters away from churches and pastors have been advised to verify identities of church visitors, Salah said.

He added that civil defense troops have also been deployed to regularly comb areas around churches.
