Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Monday inaugurated the Arab Ministerial Conference on "Terrorism and Social Development" under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The two-day conference will address the role of social development in enhancing efforts to eradicate terrorism and the role of the international community and media in this regard.
It will also probe the role of regional and international organizations topped by the Arab League in combatting terrorism as well as means of activating the role of women and youth in fighting the extremist thoughts and the impact of religious discourse in confronting violence and spreading the concepts of tolerance.
The conference is co-organized by Arab League and the Egyptian Social Solidarity Ministry with the participation of Arab social development, youth and sports ministers and heads of the executive offices of the Arab Justice, Interior Affairs and Media Councils.
Addressing the inaugural session of the conference, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the Arab League Ambassador Badr el Din Alali said the conference will address the social reasons behind the spread of terrorism and its impact on the security and stability of all social segments, regional and international efforts to contain this phenomenon as well as relevant resolutions by the Arab League councils in this regard.
