Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here last night with Maldives Speaker of the Parliament Abdullah Shahid.  Discussions during the meeting addressed the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, specially the peace process halted due to the Israeli intransigence and the Palestinian internal situation. Abbas had arrived in the Maldives Tuesday as part of a tour that included Japan, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
