The Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage renewed its call on the Arab and Muslim worlds to take urgent action to save Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Israeli occupation schemes hatched to demolish the Al-Maghariba Gate leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In a statement carried by Palestinian media today, the Foundation said the dangers posed by the occupation arms designs for the demolition of the Al-Maghariba Gate means clearly that insistence on the demolition of the Gate or the demolition of part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and it Islamic waqf (endowment) and not, as can be understand, the demolition of a temporary wooden bridge only. The statement added that the implementation of the demolition is one of the episodes of the Al-Aqsa Mosque targeting and the attempt to control the area beneath the mosque to open the Jewish tunnels and synagogues. It is also part of the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the Judaization of the Burag Wall, the statement said adding that such demolition and excavation will cause damage and cracks in the Al Aqsa Mosque building, especially the west wall, as was the case in previous years. Occupied Jerusalem Municipality announced recently that Al Maghariba gate bridge, which leads to the Al Buraq Wall in Al Aqsa Compound, will be demolished in 30 days, dismissing Jordanian and Arab objections to the move. Israel plans to construct a new bigger bridge allowing military vehicles into the sacred shrine from this gate, which is under their full control, and expand the Jewish praying area.
