A 22-year-old Palestinian carrying $50,000 who allegedly entered Egypt through a series of tunnels between Sinai and Gaza was arrested by Egyptian authorities. The unnamed man was stopped at a checkpoint Thursday, carrying the American cash but without a passport, the Middle East News Agency reported Friday. Maj. Gen. Ahmed Bakr, director of security in North Sinai, said the man was believed to be en route to Cairo to buy goods for smuggling when he was arrested.
