Beirut - Arabstoday
Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour said Monday there were no Lebanese casualties among the victims of a fire which erupted at a mall in Doha, where a large Lebanese community works and lives. Mansour said that Lebanon’s Ambassador to Qatar Hasan Saad telephoned him and assured that no Lebanese were killed or injured in the fire, which claimed the lives of 19 people and wounded many others. Last week, a bus of Lebanese pilgrims returning from Iraq was hit by a roadside bomb, claiming the lives of three female pilgrims. The remaining pilgrims, some of whom were badly wounded, returned to Beirut Sunday evening. Some of the Shiite sect’s holiest sites are in Iraq, and those visiting them have been the target of attacks in the past.
