Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr on Wednesday asserted that improving the living standards of Arab citizens requires exerting more efforts to achieve sustainable development at the level of all Arab countries.
The minister made the remarks during her speech at the 46th Annual Meeting of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) governors' council.
The minister also highlighted the role of the funding foundations in achieving sustainable development in all Arab countries in view of the serious challenges facing the Arab region and its neighboring places.
She praised the role of AFESD in offering nine loans for the establishment of nine projects in six Arab countries in 2016.
The minister also noted that AFESD had extended as many as 650 loans for the establishment of several projects in Arab countries since its foundation in 1974.
