A GCC national has been arrested for trying to smuggle 1000 narcotics pills into the country from Oman. Acting on a tip off, the Ras Al Khaimah customs in coordination with Anti-Narcotics Department RAK police held the man who was trying to smuggle the pills in a bottle of water at the border checkpoint between Oman and RAK. Director General of the Department of Customs and Ports in Ras Al Khaimah, Mohamed Abdullah Al Mehrezi said that the Anti-narcotics Department received confidential information about a GCC national, identified as HM trying to smuggle narcotics into the country. Accordingly, the department co-ordinated with inspectors of the customs and they detected the vehicle of the suspect and stopped him at the checkpoint. They inspected the vehicle and found a bottle of mineral water containing 1,000 pills of narcotics. The driver was arrested and referred to the Anti-Narcotics Department for legal actions against him.
