His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received a telephone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which the two sides discussed efforts to achieve peace in the region in light of the Palestinian Authority’s decision to request full membership at the UN. The two leaders also discussed several issues of mutual concern, a Royal Court statement said. Jordan has declared it is part of the Arab consensus over the Palestinian bid, reaffirming that it will seek to protect its interests in case of all scenarios.
