A security source in Diyala said on Friday that joint forces penetrated the defenses of the IS north of Baquba, and achieved progress towards Njana area occupied by the IS.
The source told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that the joint forces backed by the popular mobilization and the Army Aviation, managed to penetrate the defenses of the IS in Njana area north of Baquba after attacking their sites from two axes and remove earth mounds and dozens of explosive devices planted in the region.
He added that the cleansing of Njana area is imminent after the arrival of military reinforcements coming from Baghdad.
