Following the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to distribute 4,800 housing units to beneficiaries, the Housing Ministry’s Undersecretary, Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, announced that the distribution of the Northern City’s units had started today.
The undersecretary underlined the Housing Ministry’s keenness on implementing HRH the Crown Prince’s orders through accelerating the implementation of housing projects to meet the housing needs of the citizens nationwide.
He pointed out that the distribution of the Northern City’s units adds to the Crown Prince’s previous orders to hand over units to beneficiaries.
He stressed that the "Northern City" is among the largest strategic projects currently carried out by the Housing Ministry within the 25,000-unit programme included in the Government Action Plan, and emanating from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to build 40,000 units.
The project is the largest in terms of area and population, he said, explaining that it covers 740,000 hectares, and will accommodate 100,000 people.
The undersecretary highlighted the government’s support to the Housing Ministry’s efforts, noting that the government is keen to achieve the royal directives aimed at ensuring the stability of Bahraini families through harnessing all its potentials to provide them with the requirements of decent and stable life.
