Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa attended today the closing of the joint military exercise, "Hamad 2", conducted jointly by the BDF and the Egyptian Armed Forces.
Upon arrival at the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF), the commander-in-chief was welcomed by the Inspector-General, Major-General Abdulla Hassan Al-Nuaimi, Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces Rear Admiral Ahmed Khalid Hassan Said, senior BDF officers and heads of the delegations participating in the joint exercise.
The commander-in-chief inspected the warships and troops participating in the drill, and was briefed about the goals and various stages of the joint exercise.
He praised the good level of the participants throughout the stages of the joint drill, "Hamad 2", which, he said, has paved the way for the BDF to take maximum advantage of the brotherly forces' war methods and warfare to refine its affiliates' skills and increase its avility to carry out its assigned duties to the fullest.
He highlighted the importance of the joint drill and its effective role in enhancing the combat competence, as well as the operational and tactical capabilities through the exchange of field expertise and skills between the participants.
This will improve the combat readiness to confront various threats on different battlefields, he said.
He also lauded the fraternity and cooperation between the servicemen of the armed forces of the two countries, which, he said, was reflected throughout the various stages and events of the drill, highlighting the importance of such drills in enhancing the combat performance of the armed forces in the two countries, which will strengthen their defence potentials.
He stressed that BDF is dedicating all its resources to equip its units with cutting-edge military systems so as to be always ready to defend the homeland under all circumstances, adding that the BDF allocates special interest in the military drills conducted jointly with the forces of brotherly countries.
The commander-in-chief was accompanied by the Director of the BDF's General Command Court Major-General Hassan Mohammed Sa'ad, Assistant Chief of Staff for Supply and Catering, Rear Admiral Yussef Ahmed Malallah, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Major-General Ghanim Ibrahim Al-Fadhala, and a number of senior BDF officers.
