Gaza police arrested a man suspected of killing a female relative in the southern Gaza Strip, security officials said Saturday. The woman died in the Nasser medical center in Khan Younis, the officials said, adding that an investigation had been opened. They did not release further details of the incident. The UN says domestic violence in Palestine is high, and affected by poverty, unemployment and related frustrations. According to a survey by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, 58.1 percent of women in Gaza Strip have suffered violence by their husbands.
