French President Nicolas Sarkozy left Tangier on Thursday afternoon at the end of a working visit to Morocco. At the Ibn Battouta airport, the French President was greeted by the head of government Abbas El Fassi, Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi Fihri and Morocco\'s ambassador in Paris El Mostapha Sahel, in addition to other civil and military officials. HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and HRH Prince Megren Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud launched, on Thursday at the Tangier-Ville rail station, the building works of a high-speed link that will link Tangier to Casablanca, worth 20 billion dirhams (€1.8 billion). The Tangier-Casablanca rail link is a structuring project that will contribute to reinforcing and improving the transport grid in Morocco, and is part of far-reaching project policy in the Kingdom. The Sovereign, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, offered, on this occasion at the Marshane palace in Tangier, a luncheon in honor of Nicolas Sarkozy, and their royal highnesses Prince Megrin ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and Prince Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud.
