“I have not presented the new ministerial formation to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) and did not meet any of the candidates. The meeting with SCAF today was to discuss the advisory council,” said Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri. The newly appointed PM said the meeting regarding the ministerial formation will be held on Wednesday, November 30 with SCAF and the government. El-Ganzouri expressed his delight at the elections’ first phase turnout. He said the whole world admits Egypt and Egyptians’ greatness, just as they did the January 25 Revolution that overthrew the former regime. He added that he proudly bows down to these great people, despite numerous doubts over election participation in expectation of violence. He stressed the queues he saw today are evidence of Egyptian greatness and that Egypt will soon witness a good era. Regarding el-Ganzouri’s announcement of 500,000 workers’ recruitment and its effect on the budget deficit, the PM said the measures have been taken to achieve social justice, especially after price hikes, and shouldn’t affect the budget deficit. In response to Youm7’s question about when he would resume his duties from the Council of Ministers, el-Ganzouri said he is the appointed Prime Minister and would work from the headquarters as soon as the government is formed.
