Western Military Zone Commander Maj.-Gen. Mohamed el-Masry said that Egypt's western borders with Libya are 100 percent secured by air force, navy and border guards round the clock.
In statements on the sidelines of a ceremony to receive 3,500 arms from tribal leaders in Matrouh, he said the army is on high alert to abort any attempt for infiltration, smuggling or illegal immigration.
He pointed out that the recent period witnessed seizure of 14,000 arms and millions of bullets as well as 200 million Tramadol pills.
