The Creativity Corner at this year’s edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, ADIBF, has set the stage for inspired learning, creative exploration and a culture of reading in children, by showcasing a variety of fun-filled activities and workshops that will engage the minds of the fair’s youngest visitors.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, ADIBF is organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, and runs until 2nd May, 2017, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC.
Contributing to the diverse programming offered at the Creativity Corner is line-up of published authors, artists, inspirational speakers and performers from across the Arab world. Writer Rania Zaghir, leadership development specialist, Mohammad Abdul Halim, international coach and a member of the International Coach Federation, Marwa Karoura, Lebanese storyteller and librarian Naseem ‘Alwan, and children’s author, filmmaker and entrepreneur Khadijah Kudsi offer captivating workshops tailor-made for children on reading and development.
Co-founders of Collective Kahraba Eric Deniaud and Aurelien Zouki combine live sculpting, drawing and poetry in a pocket theatre performance while author Omar Khawaja and the fair’s youngest publisher, Anaahita, round up the personalities delivering the exciting roster of activities.
Divided into several distinctive sections and supported by a number of key public and private educational institutions including the Sheikh Mohammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan Association for Future Generations, Tadweer, Takamul Academy, KTalk Coaching & Consulting and Jumping Clay, the Creativity Corner carries a spectrum of educational activities designed to foster a love for imaginative learning, introspection and creative expression for children visiting the fair’s 27th edition.
The Positivity and Happiness Section offers a variety of leadership and development sessions and performance improvement workshops for children and adults, which highlight such topics as the importance of cultivating optimism, diligence in pursuing the accomplishment of dreams, self-awareness and the relationship between creativity and innovation.
The Excellence and Creativity Section introduces a series of educational and entertaining programmes designed to help develop children’s personalities and interactive skills. Exploring science and robotics, fine and performing arts, character building and mental development, this section challenges young participants to understand innovation and its impact on the world around them.
