Khartoum - MENA
Egypt's Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said on Tuesday that an international consultancy office would be chosen within two weeks to study the impacts of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
An international panel of Experts had demanded the three countries; Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan, to conduct two studies on the economic, environmental and social impacts of the dam on the downstream countries, i.e. Egypt and Sudan.
In statements after the close of the fourth round of talks in Khartoum, Moghazi said that the three countries agreed on setting a weekly action program for the office which would complete the two studies within six months and present the outcome to the trio.
He added that the office would be briefed on all studies and information on the construction of the dam as well as the water situation of the Nile stream.
