Ajman Four people have been arrested after the death of a woman whose body was found in a dump near a health facility in Ajman. A newborn baby was found alive next to the body. According to police, the woman died five hours after childbirth. The incident was reported to the police on Saturday. Lieutenant colonel Abdullah Bin Saif Al Matroushi, director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Ajman police said on Tuesday that the victim, identified as R.B.S, had given birth at a house in Ajman with the help of two men and two women, “Following the birth, the victim suffered from bleeding and other health complications which prompted the suspects to admit her to a private clinic in Dubai. The medical staff examined the woman, prescribed medicine and let her go home. The victim died in the car on her way back to the house in Ajman,” Lt. Col. Al Matroushi said. Ajman police received a tip-off from a passer-by about the body of the woman and her newly born baby in the dump,” Lt. Col. Al Matroushi said. The baby boy was found in a critical condition and was transferred to Shaikh Khalifa Hospital while the mother’s body was taken to the forensic laboratory for autopsy, Lt. Col. Al Matroushi said. “Police started the investigation which lead to the arrest of two men and two women who formed with the victim a ring to supply illegal maids to the market,” he said. Went wrong Investigations revealed that the victim was an absconded maid who had come to the UAE on a housemaid visa and run away from her sponsor’s home to join a group of illegal maids who work part time. The maids were managed by two men. The victim however got pregnant in an illegal relationship. The suspects helped the victim to give birth but the operation went wrong as they had no professional experience, Lt. Col. Al Matroushi said. The four arrested, identified as A.A.N, A.L.SH, B.A.K and A.A, fled to Abu Dhabi after they dumped the woman and her baby. They were later arrested there. The told police they had panicked and thought the two were dead. Ajman police have referred the case to prosecutors.
